Hookah lovers also buy hookah to enjoy it not only in specially designated places, but also in nature or at home. It is much easier to set up a Nanosmoke hookah than a usual classic hookah, but let us get into detail on how to properly set up a hookah.
So how to properly set up a hookah so that you would want to smoke it again and again? Our advice will help you achieve that result.
How to set up a hookah – step-by-step instruction
Step 1: Get your hookah ready for the setup
In this manual we will consider how to set up a Nanosmoke hookah, as it is one of the easiest options available.
Hookah consists of the following details:
- base;
- hose;
- mouthpiece;
- bowl;
- and, of course, a Kaloud lotus and some Cocobrico coals.
Step 2: Prepare the base by pouring water into it. For your convenience, we have provided our hookahs with special marks that define the limit of the liquid, so that you get the right amount of water in the base.
Step 3: Put the hose on with a previously attached mouthpiece. Then proceed to the bowl.
Step 4: Pack the bowl with some hookah tobacco. It is always up to you how much tobacco to put in the bowl – trust your own experience and preferences. Thanks to its unique design the bowl itself is able to provide a full set of smoking with a filling of 12.5g. or 14 of a standard 50-gram tobacco pack. Of course, this is the minimum amount of tobacco. If you like to smoke your hookah longer than usually, you should put more tobacco into the bowl. Make sure that your tobacco does not touch Kaloud lotos during the next setup, otherwise it will stick to the metal lid. There should be a space between tobacco and kalaud, so that the tobacco provides its flavour, but do not burn.
By the way, you may notice that Nanosmoke hookah bowls are made of medical heat-resistant silicone and have special brims. Wonder why? You can find the answer below.
Of course, it is important to choose tobacco of good quality because tobacco and the way you pack your bowl define the amount of smoke and the duration of smoking.
So here we would like to remind you that Al Fakher and Adalya tobacco mixes are not supposed to be in lose contact with the source of heat, for it results in rapid burning of tobacco. On the other hand, such tobacco as Tangiers and Nakhla are at their best with an over pack technique. These mixes do not burn because their upper layer gets baked and forms a protective crust for the rest of the tobacco mix.
We recommend using specially selected heat-resistant and strong tobacco such as Dark side soft or medium and relatively light Adalya, Al Fakher and Daily Hookah for Nanosmoke bowls.
Methods of tobacco packing
In general, there are three known methods of a hookah bowl packing:
- air pack method (fluff pack)
- dense pack (with a bit of extra tobacco on top)
- over pack method
Now let us provide you with more details about these methods for an easier choice of your preferable packing technique.
Air pack (fluff pack) method
When using this method, you pack tobacco by fluffing it up or loosening its density. You should remove all the branches from the tobacco and, most importantly, make sure that your tobacco does not get in direct contact with your kalaud. Those tips will help you achieve the desirable result and enjoy an excellent hookah smoking experience.
Dense pack method
In contrast to the first method, you do not fluff and loosen tobacco, but immediately put it into the bowl and press it well so that your tobacco layer is dense and firm. In this method more tobacco is used, providing more heat inside the bowl. As the result, you get denser and whiter smoke. Moreover, such a hookah can be smoked for a longer period of time than the one packed with the fluff pack (air pack) technique.
Over pack method
Even more tobacco is used for this method than in the previous one. Tobacco is placed on a bowl and forms a small hill that goes higher than the bowl’s brims. Thus, tobacco and kalaud come into contact, making a crust that protects the rest of the smoldering tobacco.
This method is not recommended for Nanosmoke hookahs, because the bowl is designed so that the kalaud sits on it firmly and do not move anywhere due to special bowl brims. The bowl is perfectly sized, it is wide, but not deep and, unlike its Chinese counterparts, the material the Nanosmoke bowl allows the heat from the coals to reach the tobacco mix’s inside without burning it. And that is a very important factor if you want to enjoy dense and white smoke for a long time.
So, you have decided on a packing method and are ready to dive into your smoking experience! Keep in mind that you will find a perfect method for you with some experience and eventually you will be able to share with your friends your own tips on how to prepare tobacco and pack a hookah bowl for a perfect hookah experience.
